Spyaxe:: NED INFO BADLY by Lou on 01-05-2006 at 01:29 AM

My step brothers computer suddenly has a progra [virus] called spyaxe that does not seem to want to remove. I took away internet access from the computer [unplugging the internet cord] and removed the files in program files manually, but without any luck. after a reboot, the virus is still there and has attempted to remove mouse access [I unplugged it, replugged, and it worked] and has also rebooted windows by itself.

Immediate assistance is needed.

Do a system restore while you are in safe mode
if i doesnt work, run an antivirus in safe mode
Edit:
erasing files like that is never good.

when you do all that you might have to repeat the steps again after rebooting..and if you have any AV programs update them..or repair them (depending upon which one you have)they may have been corrupted.

Somestimes a system restore won't work because the virus/trojan puts it self in all the restore points so you will just be restoring the virus.

And deleteing files like that is ok if you know its a virus and you know what your doing.
