I often wanted to have a sort of feature in Messenger Plus that will let you post a text message, with a url, its hard to explain, but its kind of the same as the [url] feature on most of the forums.

Because normally you have to post the whole url if you want it to be clickeble, but on forums, you can use the [url] tag to cover it in a text, so that 'click here' wil be clickeble, like this instead of this:  www.msgplus.com.

i think this is a good feature for msg plus!

This has been suggested and one of the reasons why it should not be implemented is simple:
A milicious user (or your friend infected with virus) could exploit this feature and send [url=http://a-link-to-virus-or-trojan-whatever]click here to get new msn emoticons and winks![/url] to lure you to download the virus/trojan :)

This could also be implemented in a forum anyway right? wouldnt really make much difference in messenger. beside, people would still click a link in messenger that they dont know where its going if they're stupid enough.

usually when you get sent a link in messenger is beause you are expecting it, if not, you ask what it is, if you dont trust the person don't click it.

A link is still a link weather it looks like

http://www.linkeylink.com/thisisacrazylookinglonglinkthat/justlooks/stupid

This! or....

Link Here

This, people are gonna click it either way.

Anyways, I believe this would be a good idea.

If you don't trust a person, don't follow links they send you, if you dont trust the link, don't follow it, if you don't know what it is, ask.

I like the idea too except for the part that mnjul brought up.... Maybe if they had a pop-up saying what the web address was and whether or not you still wanted to go there...
