it is only for  WMP, but there are plugins for that.

You can use a simple tool to enable Winamp Support: Download

If you use the mess patch for MSN Messenger, there is an option in that to enable winamp support.

Also, you can also use Messenger Discovery to enable winamp support

iTunes can use the WMP one.

There are several plug-ins on the winamp site itself.

This is the one I'm using.  It does a pretty good job and if you close, pause or stop winamp, the track title does get removed from your personal message.

is alot better

if you add
code:
$if(%cmp(:wastatus=Paused)%, '(Paused)',)
to one of the textboxes then write the format number into the bottom box (i use the toaster version of this plugin so they may not be exactly the same :P)  then when you pause your track your psm will update with it.

another good one is
code:
$if(%ishttp%,Radio,PC:%playcount%)
which will show the playcount of the file or if your listening to the radio it will show "radio"

For winamp -> MessengerAmp, a winamp plugin which will make it compatible with the what i'm listening to feature :)
