I have a serious problem with the voice chat. I have one copy of MSN Messenger at home with Plus! installed, all latest versions and it works perfectly. I have another copy at my office and I have never been able to establish a voice connection. I've tried almost everything there is to try, proxy, no proxy et al. Now I'm at a loss, I have no more ideas. Any one out there with a lightbulb over the head? Thanks for the help. Oh I forgot to mention: there is no error message, the connection is simply not established and after a minute or so the program gives up. RE: Voice chat problem by RaceProUK on 01-19-2006 at 12:17 PM It's probably your office firewall. Which you can't do anything about. RE: Voice chat problem by esnupe on 01-19-2006 at 01:08 PM I would absolutely agree with you if it wasn't for the fact that some of my colleagues do actually have voice connections, that's why this is tricky. Any other thoughts? RE: Voice chat problem by RaceProUK on 01-19-2006 at 10:16 PM Is that within the office network, or to contacts outside the network? Also, is that with Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger? RE: Voice chat problem by kittymew on 01-19-2006 at 10:24 PM
What msn messenger are you running at work, also RE: Voice chat problem by esnupe on 01-20-2006 at 08:21 AM
quote: Both. No connection is established with either. quote: MSN Messenger, I said so in my first message, Everything is up to date, latest version. quote: C'mon, give me some credit here RE: Voice chat problem by RaceProUK on 01-20-2006 at 11:30 AM I was kinda asking about your workmates, but I can still use that info. Since you can't connect to anyone inside or outside the network, it leads me to believe your workstation is the issue. If someone else cannot get a connection when using their Passport on your workstation, then that'll confirm it. The other option is to try Windows Messenger (I think that can do audio). RE: Voice chat problem by esnupe on 01-20-2006 at 01:04 PM What exactly do you mean by "my workstation"? Are you referring to software or hardware issues? Furthermore I can tell you that I use SKYPE which works flawlessly (voice of course). Thanks RE: Voice chat problem by RaceProUK on 01-21-2006 at 11:39 AM Workstation is the PC you use at work. And it's no surprise Skype works and MSN doesn't, as they'll use different ports. RE: RE: Voice chat problem by kittymew on 01-22-2006 at 12:46 AM
