When I place my username and password in the MSN box and I click "SIGN IN" the password gets transmitted over the internet. Is this transmission encrypted via SSL or is it a standard sign in? In the latter case, isn't this a risky operation (hacker stealing the password)?

The msn messenger servers should be encrypted. Either way, this is perfectly safe.

You should not worry about your user name and password security with MSN Messenger, it's safe...(Y)
