ive just built my own system, got the monitor today and just finsihed off all the stuff. plugging evenrthing in an when i put the xp CD in and boot up the system, the monitor just says 'no input found' or something around that. Ive checked the cabling, and cant see why its doing it, anyone else got any ideas?? cheers

look at the gfx card, make sure that it is plugged in firmly.
btw PHProxy, what is that. Perhaps pm me a link.

- No more than 1 videocard?
If there's an integrated VGA on the mainboard and also you installed another one, change the cable to the other VGA, go to BIOS and change the option of wich one to use.

nope, just the one, a GeForce 7800GT, and its a totally new card and mobo, besides, i cant even access the bios setup - my monitor isnt showing anything
EDIT: nope, checked the card and its plugged in firmly and rechecked the cables for the monitor, its still saying 'no input signal'

Have you tried another monitor?
do you have an extra card to try with?
i got the same warning because of phproxy
in a few mins, everone eas using it.

try another mon and see if it works.
btw the proxy is damn good, totally pwns mine. I downloaded a copy for myself.

(where do you guys live, cause the filtering soft we use is by novell and its a bitch, but its stupid too, therefore I doubt I'll get caught.)

OK, back to the computer help.... ive unplugged all of the excess things so i only have the core thing needed to boot (graphics, psu, cpu, RAM) and still no beep i cant get parts to swap over either t check if its those that work, anyone got any ideas what would work??

i just fixed my pc today sorta cus of the same problem. My graphics card had blown and that was the reason my pc would not beep or bring up anything on the monitor, so maybe you could try a change of gfx card.

When you were fitting the parts inside the computer did you use any protection for static ?

sprry for double posting, but ive had a breakthrough: after reading MANY different threads all over the web i read that the mobo wont get past POST if the bios is earlier than the 1013 version, ive got the 1016 version (latest one) but i dont know how i could get this onto the actual motherboard, anyone know how i could do it?? thanks (its a BIN file if that helps)

Im pretty sure it will be your gfx like i said in my last post because i had exactly the same symptoms and it ended up being the gfx card

hmm, well i have a 64 X2: these arent supported on the earlier bios versions, so just to be sure its not just the bios, im gonna try and find a way of upgrading the bios without changing any parts, then i'll prbably try a new graphics card and then the processor... but im still stumped of how to upgrade the bios...

I had a similar problem and it was the RAM I just had to take it out and put it back in again, try that if it helps

ive sent an email to abit asking about upgrding the bios to 1016 so it would support the x2 processor, i should recieve an email about it soon, i think i might be able to put it on a floppy an load it up there, im not too sure...
