Memory Leak! by mrlarotta on 01-29-2006 at 07:37 PM

I'm using Messenger Plus! ver. 3.62.146, runing on Windows 98 SE, AMD 2600 XP, 256MB RAM.

When you are using the tabs (or in some rare cases simply running Messenger Plus!) you could see a severe memory leakage: the Windows' GDI resources and the available RAM goes lower and lower and the Messenger finally crashes.

I'm sure the problem is not on my pc or another running program, because I  made some tests running only MSN Messenger and Plus! (also with all plugins disabled) and the problem dont seem to dissapear.

Keep working Patchou, this program is extremely good.

Am i right in assuming its messengers process in which the leak occurs?
If so have you tried just having messenger running with uninstalled to see if it is a messenger or plus bug?

yes, using only MSN Messenger ver. 7.0.0816 the leak dont appear. Note also that I didnt installed the "support program" included with Plus!

What happens if you reinstall Plus!? does it still leak then?

The Memory Leak is caused by the stuff NG plugin. Is a crap.

You are contradicting yourself...

Sorry by the contradiction, the stuff-NG tricked me during my tests. I think that if I finally found the truth is better to put it here inmediately and try to correct my mistake.

What version of StuffPlug-NG are you using? If it's not the latest, try upgrading, see if that stops the leak.

Leak using SPNG 2.2.397

RE: Memory Leak! by RaceProUK on 02-17-2006 at 12:01 PM

I have that version too, and I get a memory leak. Maybe we should both downgrade one version?

I will try, and tell you :)

PD: Is a funny fact that nobody has been reported the fail in the StuffPlug-NG webpage's bug section

PD: Sorry again by my contradiction
