On both sides of my family my nan's seem really interested to learn on computers. They both talk to me on msn.
One downloads her old people music and makes her own custom cds. She also knows how to burn dvds.
The other one uses her digital camera and scanner almost daily to email to friends the art type stuff they do in classes.
Through both myself and my dads explaining plus their eagerness to learn they have gained quite some knowledge. Sure everynow and then we still have to go over and fix stuff. but thats expected.
I also found showing them how to do something and writing the steps down on paper so they could follow them later works really well.

There's usually free classes for OAP's to go to which teaches them to use computers, my grandparents went before. It's completely free. They have classes at my school and usually in community places which have computers :P

Look in local newspaper :P

Personally I agree with Chris4, lots of places run basic computer courses and then they can also meet other people so the added social benefit :P
