Help: System tray on Panel is gone... by Weyzza on 02-09-2006 at 04:42 AM

To all Red Hat Linux users (I think Animal could help me with this problem):

How do you make the separator on the Panel reappear?

I accidentally removed it the other day, and now it doesn't keep applications on the systray active.
All applications that are supposedly to be in the systray gone after closing the application window (e.g. gaim)

Thanks.

Or... it is more appropriate to ask how to make the system tray reappear...

I don't know about Red Hat Linux, so i can't really help from experience.

I did find this link about configuring the panel though.

Configuring the Panel

Sorry...
It doesn't help.

I tried to load the default configuration, too.
It didn't recognize --load.
Maybe that's just because I don't have admin privilege.

Do you use the KDE desktop or GNOME desktop?

GNOME

I'm not familiar with GNOME, but maybe... Have you tried right-clicking the taskbar, and exploring the options that appear?

Also, someone with GNOME experience come and help out.

I have tried right-clicking and exploring all system settings, but I couldn't find the option for system tray :(

Thanks for responding ;)
