He is recoding it from scratch. The selected beta testers will receive an email today welcoming them to the beta testing.

All I can say is its going to be worth the wait. It will be released shortly after WLM is made public, this is subject to change without notice tho.

I read somewhere on these forums recently that as soon as the new build came out then patchou had to make some changes to the GUI but I don't know about the rest of it.  Anyway some features of 3.61 work with the new build if you were interested but I don't know how reliable that is, just be careful if you do use it.  There's quite a number of posts asking this same question too, just have a look around here and the likes of neowin (and possibly a google search wouldnt go astray either) before you make a comment like this.  Saves repeating info many times over.

I believe beta emails are not to be discussed.

Ooops, Sorry.

Post has been deleted,
Shall not happen again.

RE: MSGPlus Live compatible with 8.0.562? by Underlord on 02-11-2006 at 11:37 AM

Danke. I'm wondering why a person with three foum posts is in the beta. Would you be able to enlighten me? :)

RE: MSGPlus Live compatible with 8.0.562? by hypedupmonkey on 02-11-2006 at 11:42 AM

I do not know how it happened myself personally.
I found a link on a post from Patchou asking for testers to send him an email and such, So I went ahead and sent mine hoping to test the beta.

I have been using Messenger Plus! since the days of Version 2, I just don't tend to use forums much. I've never really been much of a forum person, but still checked my email and there it was...from Patchou himself welcoming me.

I know it sounds crazy...A person with 3 posts got one...still I am very honoured.

You are lucky then!

I didnt get in... :(
Patchou told me that I will be contacted when the beta starts, in another email I sent him.
I sent him the email he requested, to be sure, but I didnt receive any email :(

I also checked my junk mail inbox...

thats a bit harsh Undies, its patchous perogative as to WHO gets into the BETA, and its not really up to you to question it, he got chosen, and good on him, now he can join in the community

RE: MSGPlus Live compatible with 8.0.562? by user27089 on 02-11-2006 at 12:04 PM

People are still allowed their own opinion on the matter though, regardless of whether patchou's opinion is trusted or not. I'm not sure why he got in personally, but I trust Patchou, so yeah.

RE: MSGPlus Live compatible with 8.0.562? by hypedupmonkey on 02-11-2006 at 12:06 PM

Yup, and I feel very honoured to be a part of it.
I've been looking forward to MP!L as plain ol' Windows Live Messenger ain't the same.

I was just asking to see if he had any other connections to patchou.
I was being sincere and I was wondering if I should expect other people whom I am unfamiliar with to be in the beta.

why is he coding from scratch.. seeing as 3.61 partly works with live beta 0562 can't he start from there?.only reason why 362 doesn't  work is coz it was coded to give a message instead...

3.61 hardly works. Just a few features seem to work, even those are buggy. Patchou already started coding long before th 562 build. From what i've heard there will be major improvements in each and every feature. MP!L isn't just about getting the features Plus! 3 had to work on WLM... It's the next step in Plus! revolution.

Lol, the sounds so cheesy :D:P.

RE: MSGPlus Live compatible with 8.0.562? by adam.yao on 02-14-2006 at 12:14 AM

hah, I very like msgplus's tab feature, so i will switch to wlm 8.0 until msgplus live version is available.

RE: MSGPlus Live compatible with 8.0.562? by Ezra on 02-14-2006 at 12:17 AM

Recoding will also make sure msgplus! will work much better and faster.

Quality is first.

RE: MSGPlus Live compatible with 8.0.562? by Astynax on 02-14-2006 at 04:04 AM

If we are accepted as a tester, are their any rules e.g Install Messenger Plus on more than one computer within the same network?, Are we allowed to use it on more than one account on different computers in your network?

there won't be a public beta normally.

Since you're asking this question after the invites were sent then you're probably not in it. But normally it won't be a problem installing it on more than one. As long as you don't exagerate.

What made you think that I'm not a tester? I'm asking since I don't want to break the rules If I become a tester.. *Preparation is what was coming to mind* :P
