Windows Live Messenger Nicknames by user27089 on 02-19-2006 at 10:58 AM

When using the "Add a Nickname" feature with Windows Live Messenger, it completely gets rid of the persons nickname who you are talking to, including when speaking to them in the instant messenging window...

Is there anyway I can change this so I can see their name in the IM window instead of their nickname.

Yeah Vilkku, I don't think you quite got what I was talking about.

Afterwards, remove the nick name from the box and save. The person's screenname should come back.

I don't want the nickname to disappear, I want it to be there in the contact list, but not in the IM window.

Yes, but this will change their name in the main and IM window (atleast i think i can't try i'm at work)

But trax what's it so you changed it in the main window and see their original name in the message window ( or the other way around )
