RealTime Text Plugin by SPQR on 02-21-2006 at 02:17 AM

Hi there.
I've been thinking about this idea for a while now, and I am way too underqualified to undertake it.
At the moment, you have to write in big chunks of text, meaning that it does not flow very smoothly. For example, if you are telling a story, you write 200 characters and start again. While you are writing that, the person who will be readin has nothing to look at.
The idea for this is that you are given an option for MSN Messenger to feed what you are writing directly to the conversation window. It will show exactly what is in your text box. If you make any changes, the reader will be able to see them.
I think it would be very beneficial to people if they can use a plugin as above.

Now, like I said, my knowledge of C++ is fairly limited. I would not be able to make a plugin but here's an idea for someone who can. I understand that you probably get a lot of these requests so if you can't do it, can you at least point me in the right direction?

Other quick question, now that I'm here:
Where can I obtain the source code for plugins or are they closed source?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Isn't it like sending characters (instead of messages) one by one through messenger?

One thing for sure is both users must have the same plugin.
When activated, the plugin will send the characters one by one and the plugin on the other side will arrange the characters into a readable, complete message.

If it's not activated, the messages will look like broken words.

Seems like a good idea to me, but wouldn't it need a Whiteboard type of thing to run? Such as a superate window comes up which is like a notepad that both of you can see, but only you can edit?

This has been discussed before in relation to adding it to SP! - I'm pretty sure TB said he wouldn't do it. He might have changed his opinon since then but i'm thinking to code something like this you are going to need a fairly talented programmer in that area :P
