I recently purchased a domain only from them, pointed it at my own webspace, and so far its been flawless.

Was a fairly rapid service, only slightly delayed because I was messing around with my DNS settings before it had fully gone through! 8-)

They seem to be cheapest for the .co.uk domain, and as I say works fine. So overall, they get a thumbs up from me (y)

I'm afriad I actually had quite a negative experience with 1&1.  They managed to "loose" my request for the domain not to be automatically renewed so as I could re-register it somewhere else after it had expired.  Subsequently they charged me another years registration on the domain.  Although it wasn't a large amount of money to pay, the principal of having to pay for something I had cancelled put me off somewhat. :-/
