Low File Size + High Quality? by Joe on 03-11-2006 at 08:24 AM

I need to lower the file size of an .avi file without deteriorating it too badly... so that it will fit into 4.7GB, it's around 15GB... DivX lowers the size enough, but I don't know how to properly burn it into a DVD. All tutorials I have found seem to be a great amount of hassle. If anyone knows of a simple way to do this... including or excluding Divx, please let me know.

If you only need it as small as DVD-5, then you might as well make a DVD-Video disk out of it, unless your video is really long (hours).

You can use Nero to make a DVD-Video disk.

If your video is really long, then you could use XviD, which has a similar implentation to DivX, but gives better video quality.

If your video is really really long, I recomend using an AVC codec. Nero would be a good choice here as well.
