ok, so my dad cleaned out a filing cabnet this weekend, and found the flyer for the first computer he and my mom bought when the got married (20 years ago this year). man was this thing top notch, cost them nearly $1500 canadian.

Bad thing is... that looks like the keyboard I had on my old computer till we got this one about 2 years ago :P

mwahaha.. not 1mb memory.. expandable to 1mb :P its actually 256kb by default.

and for comparason: the latest ipod has an 80mhz processor and 32mb ram, with a high intensity lcd :P

i think i remember playing centipede on that pc.. till it started to make sparks.

ive seen servers as old as that pc, they needed a room with about 0*C ... they were cool...

i had a computer that old once, it was so crappy, and it had one of the orriginal "simcities" on it, although we never could get it working

back in the day it WAS fast, seeing as there are calculators running more advanced programs nowadays then what was being run back then

seriously, i was runing windows 1.01 on it, alond with word, and i could start it up and work away with zero lag, but also, zero features:P

20 MB HDD! OMG... and the CPU, at least it was even faster than NES (1.79 MHz NTSC version, 1.66 MHz PAL version)..... yes old days...
My dad's first PC was a 386SX and after that a 486SX, when I used to play with my all-mighty and powerful MS-DOS 6.0 :'(

We used to have one of them I think, or one of the ones where you plug in the tape player... I can't quite remember.

WOW, is there a turbo mode on it as well...it might be able to go to 20 MHZ. Now that's overclocking. :P

heh. actually the turbo mode was 10mhz.. the non-turbo was the 4.7 mhz on the sheet.
and it would probably be funny, even though we chucked the machine in '97

i can still remember those old b:\ drives, with the 8 inch floppys, microsoft couldn't get them hard, just there later 3 1/2 inch "floppys"
