I was shutting down my computer, but when it said "Saving your settings", it froze. This happens when I have Windows Defender running, and this is normal, so I pressed the handy restart button. When Windows started up, it checked the disk, and said that boot.ini was invalid (or something) and it had to be truncated - I've seen this message enough to know that that means "yeah, we just deleted it". After that, Windows started fine. RE: Boot.ini Problem - Help ASAP by Stigmata on 03-26-2006 at 07:11 PM
