as some of u might know i got my new v80, but i got limited memory, which is alrite but does anyone knows of any software that can compress mp3's dont mind losing some quality, but it would be great my phone software already compreses a 3mb mp3 to about 800kbts but i just wana know if there is a way of compresinthem b4 i use the software to tranfer to phone.

get a program that can encode the files to a lower bit rate. If you have nero look in audio > encode audion files. then choose mp3pro (only 30 files unless you register) and choose a low bitrate (64 kb/s or something)

when encoding a lot of files, in task manager put the encoder to high priority. you wont be able to do anything else but it will finish much quicker :)

encode to a very low bitrate, and make sure its mono.

Actually, don't. Your phone doesn't support mp3pro anyway, so using it would be a waste.

For compressing really far, I'd recomend mono, as lizard.boy said. Drop the sample rate to about 20 KHz (try to use even factors fo your source, for example, CD is 44.1 KHz, so use half that = 22.05 KHz)

ill give you a simpler way....use a software called DIET MP3..its not much, but it serves the purpose

edit i get a 'currupted file' message when i try playing in on the phone :(

You should check what mp3s your phone can play, maybe it only has limited suport.

but i dont get any such error when i use it for compression. check what extensions your phone can play
