Hi... can anyone tell me how to stop msm signing in automatically. I have stopped it starting when the pc starts up, but when I open msn messenger it automatically signs in and I want it to request my sign in detais... I cant find an option to stop it signing in automatically.... can anyone help?

before you sign in (click cancel when it tries to) then there is 4 'objects'
"Type your email address here"
"remember me"
"remember my password"
"sign me in automatically"
(or words to that effect)
just un tick the "sign me in automatically" option and then (hopefully) it should work for you :)

hope this helps!

PS: welcome to the forums :D

Hi...and thanks for the welcome..... When I start msm I am not getting the option to cancel. It just goes straight to signing on...and then opens...I have nothing to click to cancel?? does this make sence?

Thanks for your help

(fiel > sign out)

now this is why I am getting confused... on my other pc I get the screen with the 4 options...

on this new pc I dont, but now as you say I am signing out... and all i get is the message sign in.... it even has my mail address showing... so anyone can see it.... if i go to sign in under a different name I cant as I dont have one.... this is really frustrating as I dont want to leave messenger open

Start -> Run -> control userpasswords2 -> Advanced -> Manage -> Remove your email from the list -> OK :)

Hi guys.... before I got the last suggestion, I deleted msm from my machine, and downloaded the new version. It is all good now... Thanks all for your time and advice.
