i read that media programs that only come with the Media Center OS are available for other versions of XP. does anyone know where i can get these from? RE: XP Media Center by TReKiE on 04-12-2006 at 10:43 PM
This is legit. Besides the MCE UI, they threw in Plus! DME, which you can get here: RE: XP Media Center by Reaper on 04-12-2006 at 10:45 PM So MS Plus! will give me the apps that are in Media Centre? RE: XP Media Center by TReKiE on 04-12-2006 at 10:51 PM
No, Plus DME gives you the extra goodies they give you in Media Center which I assumed what was you were referring to. RE: XP Media Center by Reaper on 04-12-2006 at 10:54 PM I meant the music, image and video software it comes bundled with, and it seems that Plus! has all of that RE: XP Media Center by TReKiE on 04-13-2006 at 12:30 AM
Yeah, those are the "goodies". But Movie Maker 2.0 is already in Windows (go to WindowsUpdate if you don't have the latest), and Photo Story can be found here -- http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalp...story/default.mspx. RE: XP Media Center by Reaper on 04-13-2006 at 12:59 AM ok cool, thanks RE: XP Media Center by aNILEator on 04-13-2006 at 06:43 AM there is a free open source version of Media center somewhere, it looked just as good as MS MCE and i think it had more features RE: RE: XP Media Center by Max on 04-13-2006 at 10:25 AM

quote:I just clicked that expecting an operating system . It looks suspiciously like the built in media centre thing in Windows XP MCE . RE: XP Media Center by Max on 04-14-2006 at 09:21 AM The team developing it is lead by the man that founded the Xbox Media Centre project. It is just an open source clone of the program in the Windows Media Center operating system. |
