[Suggestion] MSN Messages to G15 LCD screen. by Funness on 04-17-2006 at 11:59 AM

Greetings.

For those who don't know, the Logitech G15 keyboard has a built in LCD screen. Currently, there are on-going projects for a few other IM clients (mIRC, Trillin, Miranda) but the old MSN Monitor (here) has died and soon will have no support for newer versions of Live.. infact it didn't used to work, but when Live started using older code again it did.

It would be nice to have a plugin for Plus that can display messages/events on the screen and if posible.. a keyhook to type to people on MSN even when it is not the foreground app. I told DT this idea and he said it might be hard, but then I showed him this ActiveX COM dll for the keyboard and he said it would make it easier. Logitech support people making their own applets for the keyboard so any coder would have no problem form them. They may even help (Here is the LCD SDK)

Just an idea,
             Funniwunniness.

Buy me one of those keyboards and I'd be glad to write something for it ;)
But as long as I have my nice MX3100 I'm not planning on buying one of those myself, and as such I really won't be able to write any software for it :P
Honestly, writing software for something you don't actually have to test with is hell (a)

Anyway, if it's a COM thing, you could probably write your own stuff once MsgPlus! Live comes along :)

Interesting. Wouldn't mind to attempt something like that, but then again, I don't own a G15. :(
I can neither test nor enjoy my programming.
