Msn freeze up @ new conversations by kaygen on 04-24-2006 at 10:48 PM

Messenger Plus: 3,63,148
MSN:7.5.0324
OS: Windows XP

problem: Well Iīve had this problem for a while now and itīs getting really annoying. If I uninstall PLUS! the problem disappears, but reinstalling it brings the problem again.

Every time I try to open a new window in msn(conversations), MSN freezez up for about 1-2 seconds. Get really annoying when 2-3 people write to me at the same time, then it freezez for maybe 5 secs.

I dont want to uninstall PLUS! though because it has so many good functions.

Help plz:(

I dont think itīs an RAM issue.

I have 512DDR, and it doesnt even matter if I close every other program. I talked to a friend and he said that it has something to do with the plus logging. But i turned the logs off, still the same problem.

Do you have an Plus! Plugins installed? Are you using the MSN Messenger Logging along with the Chat History in the conversation window?

Do you use transparency at all? Do you have a lot of custom sounds? Thats all I could think of that would slow it down.

No plugins installed at all and the original msn logging is turned off as well as the plus logging.

NO! The problem isn't in my computer being slow(which it isnt). The problem is in the logging. I am not using any extra plugins or "cool" effects like transparency

Uninstall Plus! and see if that makes a difference. If not, then obviously Plus! isn't the problem

Actually this happens with me, but only with contacts who are using Dynamic DP.

I'm not sure if it is the same case for him.:)

ciao

I have the same problem to.
It just 'appeared' one day.

My PC isn't slow;
P4 3.6GhZ
1gb Ram
..

I turned off chat logging in both MSN and MsgPLus! ...

Current plugins :
- Stuffplug -NG
- iTunes Plugin

EDIT : I think I solved it ; I think it was because my chatlogs were getting to big;  I just made a new chatlogs folder ;.

:)

If you turn off the loggin and the problem is still there then it's probably not a problem with the logging :S try turning off individual features and see which one causes the problems, that will narrow it down
