I just made a colored nick, and asked my friend if he could see it? He couldn't either could other people? Or is colornick only for your own viewing?
Please help me.

They will only be able to see the colour in your display name if they have Messenger Plus! installed on their computers.

As J.J said they may not have Messenger Plus! installed, it could be because they are using Windows Live Messenger, which doesn't have a compatable version of Plus! released yet.
