Its the 689 version, and when I sign in, I can't do anyhthing, it crashes!

I uninstalled it very many times and installed it again, then tried MSN 7 and it still doesn't work. I also deleted "MSN" and "Messenger" folders from Program Files.
I think I did a 'Mess Patch' but I think the problem was before that.

I hope you didn't delete 'Messenger'! That's WIndows Messenger, and should be left well alone!

Are you running on a router or a non static ip address, if so, i have the same problem and simply restart my router.

Yeah, I deleted "Messenger" but  didn't have Windows Messenger anyway any more. The router thing- tried it many times.... and connection problems should show already when signing in? Also, this is also a problem in other versions... even 6.0... So anyone know to help? For WLM I had no plugins but I did have a broken Plus! for 7.5. Tho I don't thing that is the problem, I installed it normally and still the problem. Gimme some help please!

OK, reinstall Windows Messenger. That will restore full functionality to MSN Messenger/WLM.

I don't get where people think removing Windows Messenger is a good idea. It's like the people who want to remove Internet Explorer: if you properly remove IE, expect it to take half the system with it.

Damnit! I downed Windows Messenger and still no help! I can log in on WM though but not on WLM nor MSNM... I tried uninstalling, all. WTF is wrong?

check details in the crash report window and post the file (usually a dll) causing the error so we can help you better

I can only see the error signature the whole error is not reachable. I can't get it anywhere.

I can confirm it, ieframe.dll is ie's library file and I got same issue when installed ie 7 beta build 5358

Now i'm using official beta 2 and it works fine

what's your build?

Mine's downlaoded from Microsoft and it says there IE7 Beta 2...

MSN Plus! Live is cool, I've been using it while I could and it rocks...

try updating IE7 , that aint the latest build

you can find 5358 build on google (leaked build I guess)

Leaked builds suck. 5346 is from MicroSoft and is stable.
Yeah. Somehow I also noticed that when Skype is active then there are no problems with WLM. Weird, eh?

Mmm, it seems skype opens some ports used by messenger too... anyway I found a lot of users with messenger crash in ieframe.dll after login so I sent feedback to IE developers team (I'm ie7 official beta tester)

Do you use ICQ? Can you check if messenger doesn't crash when icq is running (instead of skype)?

Don't use ICQ and I don't wuite want to download it either just to see if it runs then.

I'm trying if the skype trick works with icq too.
