Windows Media Connect Help! by PureLegend on 05-21-2006 at 05:52 PM

I've tried other forums, and I hpoe this one will help more, as it's more connection-related...

I tried setting up Connect on my computer for my 360. Connect recognizes my 360, but can't start sharing folders, and the 360 can't even see it!

My computer is on a wireless connection to a router, and my 360 is wired to said router.

What's the problem?

Oh yeah, and I have Zonealarm 6.1

Error codes?

W: 0000 - 000B
X: 0600 - F001
Y: 0000 - 0000
Z: 8016 - 05B4

Here is a map of my setup:

D is for Daisy
360 is for Xbox 360
R is for Router
M is for Mango (the one I want to use with Windows Media Connect)
WWW is the internet

That help?

I can't get U PnP running on Mango. I can for Daisy.
I used services.msc to try and start it

Error 1068

Your router and/or firewall is probably blocking access. You need to configure them to allow them to do what you need.

Heres an article to help configure ZoneAlarm
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=508093

What router are you using?

I added my Xbox 360 to the trusted zone in Zonealarm, but that didn't seem to make much difference.

And I'm not sure about the router

Ooo, edit...erm it's a 3Com 3CRWDR100A-72 aka OfficeConnect ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router.

Your ISP my be running some kind of firewall service, mine did. To be sure, send a mail to them and ask.

I've used this before on a direct ethernet connection, and it worked.

Found this in the Connect log:
[2006-05-02, 16:13] Scanning [C:\Documents and Settings\Michael Brown\My Documents\My Music\Sample Playlists\008CAE57\Favorites -- 4 and 5 star rated.wpl] Failed. Error=0x800700e8(The pipe is being closed.).

Mean anything? There were loads of them.
