i had to reduce the ammount of animation i put in, in favor of getting the list of characters in, also, i want to get it released

ok, i'm hoping this will work out, and maybe get stickyed:P

this will be a part of "Nitemare Productions"

you can see that status of the progect here: Nitemare.ca

i'm looking to make a forum music video:P, but i need character designs from everyone, if you wanna be in the movie, post here, with a picture or detailed discription, of what you think you might wanna look like, it doesn't have to be human, he's who i have so far:

i'm having to cut of the number of people at 45 since this is probualy going to take ages to render with that meny people in it

if you want me to change your design, contact me ASAP, these designs can take a while to create, so i'll need fair notice

i need a cartoon character, something less complex then a real human:P, perhaps an object i can put arms and legs on:P

for those that have no idea, i'll make your character a box with your picture on it if you want:P Like this one

as you can see we have reached the 45 person limit, so i have closed the list, if you really want to get in, PM me i'll see what i can do, but at this point it reallt does depend on your popularaty on the forum, if your on the list now, your safe, nobody will be kicked off (with exception of traxor j/k)

If you want simple:
Get the cloak thingy, put a hockey mask instead of a face, put some hands and feet in and then a scythe in one of the hands.

Basically that shape and you could add some eyes and a smile in the middle of it and maybe legs and arms. Whatever you think looks best. ;)

Sorry to double post, but this deserves a bump, i've make excellent progress, in the movie, so much that i know i'm not going to flake out on it in a few days when i get bored, i wan tto see the final as much as you all do

nope, i used 2 programs, 3dmax and paint.net

3d max has a feature called materials, its allows you to add ad material, texture or 2d picture on to an obgect

so all that is, is a box with a croped screen shot of one of scones posts, put on top

It'll take ages to render as it is with all those characters. Someone at college was rendering something in cinema4d that was quite complex and they had to leave the computer on for a few days rendering, although I don't think this will be that complex, will it? :P

lol, oh i know all about rendering time, the more lighting effects you have the longer it will take to render

to give you an idea

the song i choose is 4:28 minutes:seconds or 268 seconds

now each second contains aprox 30 frames

and depending on the complexity of the the frame being rendered each frame could take anywhere from 3 to 50 seconds, i've even seen it go up to 2 minutes (but that was ultra complex, and it was just a still shot, not an animation)

now, lets go worst case senierio:

60 seconds a frame
30 frames a second
268 seconds total

totaled tahts 482400 seconds for the entire movie, that equals 8040 minutes or 134 hours or 5 days 14 hours

so in turn if i had ALL the creation work done right now, it would take 5 days 14 hours to render all the clips

then after that theres editing, putting all the clips in order and sound effects (if needed), video effects, don't forget re-renders for mistakes (we all make them)

its a big progect to be doing alone:P

i've taken abreak today, and am trying to test out vista on my 3rd hdd, but the beta 2 barly has any compatable drivers

well in the 75 hours total i've worked on this, i've produced 49 Character Models,  1 stage + 2 speakers, a banjo, a fiddle, a harmonica, a microphone+stand, and 59 seconds of usable video footage(out of 4:31 needed)

the work should progress alittle faster know that i have my video card back from warentee repair, dual screens should make it easyer

yeah, apparently the card itself was broken, as some of you might remember i was having problems with it. so after talking with ATI tech support i sent it in for repair, with in 5 days (on 3 business days) they had overnight shipped a repleacement, since i don't think they could fix it

As a digital animator myself I gotta say that this is really poor rendering, animation and lighting, BUT i really don't wanna insult or anything you know because you're my friend

I look forward to seeing some real animating rather than camera panning. ;)
