Another iPod problem :'( by YottabyteWizard on 05-30-2006 at 03:30 PM

I'm using a third party encoder for videos for my iPod, and I'm able to watch them perfectly, the problem is:

When I update my videos (add/change/remove) on the iPod the ones that I didn't even touch will disappear and I'm only able to see them on iTunes, the new/edited ones show up correctly.

What am I doing wrong? Or what is the problem?

Thank you very much in advance.

Are the videos still in iTunes when you try and update the iPod? If not and if you are using Automatic Update then files that are on the iPod that are not in iTunes are removed to prevent Piracy. You can actually use the Manual Update to update your iPod.

Using iPod with multiple computers

Yes they still are there. I disabled automatic update for everything, so i don't think that would be a problem.

When I replug the iPod to my computer, the list of files is correct! I can see my videos, all my songs. The only difference is that the "videos" won't appear with the 'screen' icon next to the title, so I checked once again my iPod and... now the videos are on the song list :@ WTF!
