RE: CS tournament by EvilSeph on 06-04-2006 at 01:27 AM

1.6

and no, we will not have this on a home-hosted server. Please God no.

It at least has to be from a server host.

lol, u must have experience with home servers :P

i'll ask the person when he comes online for a real server ;)
RE: CS tournament by brian on 06-04-2006 at 02:36 AM

I might get a server from my own pocket as a donation to here...

But who will play? (and what location do you guys think) -- I can get:

new york, chicago, atlanta, los angeles, seattle, dallas

RE: CS tournament by Supersonicdarky on 06-04-2006 at 03:07 AM

ny or seatle, i dunno why...

and thnx u :)

people who play: me, you?, shawnz, EvilSeph...

i think segosa/stiggy will play too since one of them (i forget who) has 1.6. maybe eljelly too? but he's obsessed with source...

and i can get some other people to play too :)

RE: CS tournament by EvilSeph on 06-04-2006 at 03:08 AM

I have a server too.

Thing is my server is eastern.

Looks like this tournament will only be for Americans and Canadians?

How will it run?

Edit:

nvez,

Last time we had a CS server it was constantly empty. I don't think you should waste your money even if it is as a donation to here. I have a public server and a private server. Since I'm paying for it, I can do whatever I want with it. But I am still not sure if I should use it for this tournament.

Edit 2:

My servers are located in New York.

RE: CS tournament by Underlord on 06-04-2006 at 03:27 AM

I'd play but the lag will be terrible. Also the time difference is annoying.

RE: CS tournament by albert on 06-04-2006 at 03:55 AM

I truly sucks but I would have a shot just for fun, as long as there's no money involved or anything.. 8-)

RE: CS tournament by John Anderton on 06-04-2006 at 05:48 AM

I can play too unless it is 3am in the morning here :dodgy:

(I suck as CS yet i wanna give it a try ..... i cant connect it to any server so mabbe someone can help me (a) Im better at UT if someone would be up for it :P)

Someone will have to teach me how to connect tho :dodgy:

RE: CS tournament by Discrate on 06-04-2006 at 06:10 AM

RE: CS tournament by Ahmad on 06-04-2006 at 06:14 AM

I would, but I can't connect to any servers because of my (stupid) router. Port forwarding doesn't seem to work :/

RE: CS tournament by user27089 on 06-04-2006 at 06:31 AM

I'll have to buy Counter-Strike 1.6, but okay then...

Counter-Strike: Source > *

RE: CS tournament by EvilSeph on 06-04-2006 at 06:33 AM

meh i would prefer it to be source but... ok im in :P

RE: CS tournament by EvilSeph on 06-04-2006 at 07:17 AM

Counter-Strike: Source is piss easy compared to Counter-Strike 1.6.

Keep it 1.6, we have servers.

* Eljay gets some 1.6 practice
RE: CS tournament by EvilSeph on 06-04-2006 at 08:03 AM

I have Counter-Strike: Source too, but no server anymore :(

They're far more expensive than CS 1.6 -_-

RE: CS tournament by Stigmata on 06-04-2006 at 09:34 AM

yeah ill play

lagg like a whore on crack though :(

RE: CS tournament by Jhrono on 06-04-2006 at 10:19 AM

RE: CS tournament by Stigmata on 06-04-2006 at 10:40 AM

RE: CS tournament by Reaper on 06-04-2006 at 11:09 AM

If someone can get a CS: Source server, could we have Source tournament?

RE: CS tournament by John Anderton on 06-04-2006 at 12:06 PM

1.6 for me please.
Stiggy ill play if you arent too good. Cause im not :P
btw ive never played online ... someone needs to teach me how to do that :p

RE: CS tournament by Supersonicdarky on 06-04-2006 at 01:06 PM

people who complain about server far away: it wont be that bad. i always play on romanian/german/russian servers and i live in canada and hardly any lag ;)

RE: CS tournament by EvilSeph on 06-04-2006 at 05:43 PM

Yes. It all depends on how knowledgeable the person running the server is at setting up the server.

But, even if you do not lag, you do glitch around making it harder for the people that do not lag to hit you...

RE: CS tournament by GiantSpider on 06-04-2006 at 08:07 PM

Well unless it's source it aint for me, get one of them going & were laughing.

RE: CS tournament by Lou on 06-04-2006 at 08:12 PM

I'll play but I'll have to clear this computer first. Too many processes running + CS = lots of lag. As for a source tournement, wait for next year when I get it;)

RE: CS tournament by Reaper on 06-06-2006 at 10:34 AM

So whats the status for this tourny?

RE: CS tournament by Steven on 06-06-2006 at 10:41 AM

Next week i believe.

RE: CS tournament by Supersonicdarky on 06-06-2006 at 10:57 AM

i dunno, when does eveyone have free time? what day and time?

RE: CS tournament by Reaper on 06-06-2006 at 11:21 AM

Well, isn't it better to draw up a roster of who is playing. Set the matches. Then the players can decide the date and time for thier matches.

RE: CS tournament by Supersonicdarky on 06-06-2006 at 12:12 PM

dont we need to know people's skill levels first then, to see who goes wit who?

Yeh. Get a list of all the people who want to play, and what game whether it be 1.6 or Source.
RE: CS tournament by Supersonicdarky on 06-06-2006 at 01:05 PM

its 1.6, its decided

everyone who wishes to enter, pm me :D

RE: CS tournament by Reaper on 06-06-2006 at 01:17 PM

Can't we have a Source one, for people without 1.6 (like me)? I might be able to get a server.

Thats good to know :)
Ok, if you are interested in playing the Source tournament, then PM me. If enough people want to play, then I will attempt to get a server. If only a few people want to play then there is no point.

People so far, for Source tournament only:

Reaper
Eljay
traxor
Johny
GiantSpider
RE: CS tournament by Jhrono on 06-06-2006 at 03:36 PM

Johny for Source :cheesy:

Uh if this is going to be a 1v1 tournament, then it should be for money. There's no point having a 1v1 - CPL style tournament for fun. I thought it was going to be a random-team tournament (depends on who goes on the server at that specific time) like Blade was going to organise.

Yes? No?

How do you measure skill level :)?

If its 1v1, then we can put the names of the players into an imaginary hat and base the first matches purely on randomness.
If its done by teams, then again we can randomise it to make it fair.
RE: CS tournament by Voldemort on 06-06-2006 at 07:53 PM

Im in for 1.6 if no money is involved... no way to pay it :P
Take in account im a newb and nver played online

RE: CS tournament by Reaper on 06-06-2006 at 07:55 PM

I guess money isn't the best thing, but there should be a prize for the winners.

RE: CS tournament by ShawnZ on 06-06-2006 at 08:33 PM

RE: CS tournament by EvilSeph on 06-11-2006 at 03:15 PM

_AoE.Clan Server *RECRUITING*

69.9.42.166:27015

That's my server IP and port. Add it to favourites, shawnz and myself play in there often (more myself since it's my Clan server).

Feel free to join us or play with any random person that's on the server.

If you do encounter any of my clan members, ignore them. They like being idiots. And no, they are not hacking. And no, neither am I. We are just really good.

RE: CS tournament by ins4ne on 06-11-2006 at 06:14 PM

RE: CS tournament by Supersonicdarky on 06-11-2006 at 06:50 PM

he could just make it a non-steam server... couldn't he?

i wana play there cuz its the lowest pinging server i know (28 for me)

RE: CS tournament by EvilSeph on 06-11-2006 at 07:05 PM

Unfortunately no, I can't just make it a non-steam server since I am renting this server.

+ I don't want to get my host shut down now :P

RE: CS tournament by Negro_Joe on 06-11-2006 at 07:08 PM
