msn wont connect its comin up about a firewall or proxey settings is wrong and ever thing else works fine how ever internet explore wont connect to the internet when its connected so i downloaded and installed internet exploer 7 to  see if that helps but it didnt how ever it connects throght aol and it works fine its on my mates computer im not that stupid to use aol at all can any 1 give me a hand

It might be a problem in your area with AOL.

Do you have dial-up or broadband?

Turn off your computer and cable modem at the mains and wait 30 seconds. Turn the power back on to your cable modem only, wait 30 seconds then turn the power back on to your computer.

no listen its at my m8s house his problem and i couldnt be stealing it since he lives on other side of the village

tried dat and it didnt seem to work any1 else got any ideas

its comin up proxey settings maybe is incorrect or da firewall is blocking it and the firewall is not blocking it so can any 1 help me

Sometimes, the firewall doesnt appear to block it, but it is. Try disabling it.

I had this problem once I just restarted my computer and then it was fine

are you using a firewall?
if yes,
check your port forwards if you use any and make sure they are correct, or just disable it and check to see if you can just rule it out.
what is the error number, what does the error text say exactly?
