Change/delete the settings made by Wireless Network Settings by Scanorama on 06-05-2006 at 05:10 AM

Hey all, I changed some settings of Wireless Network Settings on Windows XP Service Pack 2 using Wireless Network Settings wizard in Control Panel.

I added a network called 'Michael' and at one stage it asked me to select an USB drive as one of the network drive. I accidentally selected one of my partitioned hard drive e:\

Is there any way to undo this change? Right now in My Computer, the e:\ has a wireless network drive icon next to it. It has a folder calls 'SMRTNTKY'. Inside the folder, it contains settings for the wireless network settings, as well as a Windows XP Version Checking Program.

How can I delete the network 'Michael'? Thanks in advance :)

Star>My Network Places(under my computer)>View Network Connections(on the side bar). There right click on Michael disable and then delete. :)

I hope this works.

I did that, but I can't find Michael in Network Connection. I don't have a wireless network card installed in my computer. But I click on Wireless Network Settings, it has 2 options, one is create a new network, another is to add new device to Michael.

How can I change the icon of E:\ back too? Thanks :)

Can you post a screenshot of everywhere this 'Michael' appears please? I don't use the sidebar in Explorer, and I use the Classic Control panel, so I'm not sure where you mean.

Ok not sure if this will work but go into the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Then Computer Management. Ok once in there go down to Disk Management. Right Click on the E: Drive showing in there and select Delete Logical Drive
Thereby completely removing the drive from the system, with little chance of recovering the data on it.
In future, please don't suggest things like this: it'll only confuse people.

So long as no harm's done, it's OK ;)

I think it should be possible to stop sharing by right-clicking the drive, selecting Proerties, and clicking the Sharing tab.
