Hi,

Normally, when you sign in, and select sign in "appear offline".. MSN asks you, if you want to change your status to online.

The problem is, there is a check, wich says something like "Don't show this message again", and I accidentaly checked it.

I want MSN to ask me if I want to go online, when I sign in with "appear offline"

Does anybody know where MSN stores this setting?

I looked in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and then software\microsoft\msnmessenger or something like that, but couldn't find anything what looked like that..

I also checked the same thing in HKEY_CURRENT_USER... but no luck :(

Have you tried reinstalling msn messenger? also when you reinstall delete your account and add it again from the sign-in window [Image: xso_undecided.gif] it might help.

Hi,

First calculate your MSN ID. (You can use this program for this).

Then, Navigate to the registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\PerPassportSettings\<your passport ID>

Try changing 'DontShowDefaultSignIn' to 0.

Choli isn't a program :O (although you're right in thinking that he coded one of them)

the javascript one segosa coded works quite well, and means you don't have to download anything :P

Neither of which would actually help TBH. And I'm not entirely certain fatfreechicken's advice will work, but it's worth a try I guess.

confirmed, fatfreechicken's advice worked fine :)*
