Trojans!!! by welshboy222 on 06-05-2006 at 04:49 AM

Hi guys I have some questions for ya all:
1. If a trojan is in quarrintine can it still do its job?
2. How do I get rid of it, do I just delete it while its in quarrintine?
Thanks guys your always a big help!

Answers:

1.depends what sort of trojan it is.,but just because something is in qurantine doesnt mean it cannot do its job..
also depends on what sort of Security program it is to actually see how reliable the qurantine is.
2.personally i would delete it.
(but I have reg mechanic to fix any registry keys that may get ousted during the deletion process)
.but still if you would like some more help with this..no one can really tell you what to do until you tell us what trojan you have ..

one step at a time

what trojan is it?
what security programs do you have?

http://www.securemost.com/articles/rm_surfaccuracy.htm

after it finds it it asks you what you want to do..then you press "delete  the found problems" and it does that ..sorry i wasnt specific with step by step instructions..
I honestly thought that you would read the instructions after you downloaded it.
if it helps look on the top toolbar thats the one accross the top
it tells you exactly what to do
also if you read the instructions on set up or read the tutorial you can see exactly step by step how to use ewido
it not only scans but it also pinpoints the problems and also helps you get rid of them.

good luck:)

Try deleted the file that's infected manually... Or if you have another antivirus program try scanning with that....

And you couldn't just bump your old thread :zippy:

What is the trojan? Thing is, nowdays a virus/ torjan maybe something completly harmless. Anti-viruses pick up on anything because the public is paranoided of viruses. It could be adware. :) Was the new trojan in your system restore? :P

RE: Trojans 2 by welshboy222 on 06-07-2006 at 05:30 PM

theres 2! They are both called trojan.downloader
one is called unistall.exe and the other one is called I dont know but the uninstall.exe is in the temp folder in Local Settings and I can't find it!
Also I know one of them is a trojan because I have got banned from all my forums for no reason, so of which I havn't been on for months!

RE: Trojans!!! by absorbation on 06-07-2006 at 05:33 PM

It looks like adware. Using your scanner damaged it. It is not a trojan nor a threat. That's the thing, never remove anything unless you know what it is. The adware had an uninstaller but your scanner has now damaged it. But do not worry, the thing is no threat ;)

Yer but I have been banned from loads of forums because of spamming posts on them. (Not me the trojan).
