Ok, I just recently got my dvds for windows vista. It came with a x32 and x86 i believe dvds. Did i need to install the x86 dvd to get the glass affect?? cuz in this video, the chick had the same theme as me. So I donno. Please tell me I had the x86 dvd because i really want the glass affect.

the glass affect has nothing to do with which bit OS u have its about your video card, x86 beta 2 is the bettermore drivers are supported along with better program compactability and it is only recomended to install the x64 based OS if you have a x64 proccessor.

so id say install the x86 version (i got it) and see if your video card can handle "aero"

You don't.
I had the same prob as you. But I got it working.
Just make sure you have the right drivers installed, + the right specs.
First if you have Quicktime running close it (end proccess))
then go to Control Panel -> Personalize -> Visual Appearence -> Highlight  "Windows Vista Aero" click apply then ok it should then say applying theme.
Note:
You may have to restart the PC.
To test if it is working do this:
Windows Logo + Tab

nathan, i dunno if hes actually installed it yet, i think he is merely asking which bit vista he should install, leave the instructions until after he has installed it lol

i ran the vista advisor and it said i could run aeroi didnt look into it much until i installed vista and it turns out it doesnt support chipsets and i have an intel chipset still the advisor screwed up

It's funny because on the windows vista check to see if you have the requierments thingy and it said that my wireless card doesnt wont work... Then how the hell am I on the net now eah?! lol.

Your card sadly does Not support aero. still i say u spent money on it so install vista on a seperate partion of your hard drive

I have a nVidia and its not on that list and mine works
and as long as it can do these things then its ok.

just do the following... in those boxes click the following:
Graphics Drivers -> GeForce & TNT2 -> vista*

* means and the rest

Aw man, that sucks. Oh well.. Guess I just have to use the grey affect. It sucks cause I cant put a video card in my laptop =( Thanks for the help though guys. Atleast the release of msgplus live will make me happy today.

Mine defiantly surports it I ran the advisor thing! now i just need to burn it maybe tomorow if i get the chance!

install vista lol, then see if u have a WDDM driver or whatever its called for your Video Card, if not put up with no aero

Ohh lol. Yeah Im using vista right now lol. I just wanna get my graphics card working because its not even coming up as a driver in my laptop

And with 512 theres no point, aero uses approx 110mb for me
and I have 1gb of ram, and at the mo  I have 218mb left
and im only using IE limewire and thats it

i got 480mb of ramand im non-aero i can run photoshop n all just when i run media player 11 the pc starts to freeze abit

I just heard that this graphics card only works on xp. I tried installing it with the cd that i got with my laptop that has the driver files on it but I cant *says in doopy voice* cuz it has to be in xp.
