Get all the scripts & Info for developers by Menthix on 06-25-2006 at 06:34 PM

Welcome to the scripting section of the forum, this post will explain everything you need to know to get started.

What are Plus! Scripts?
Scripts are enhancements for Messenger Plus! Live created by other developers. You must have Windows Live Messenger and Messenger Plus! Live installed first before you can install any script. The scripts add even more features to Plus! than it already has. What kind of feature a script adds is totally different per script, just read the description of the scripts and download the ones you like.

So where can I get these scripts?
Browse the Official Scripts Database
All the scripts we received from people all over the world are listed in the database so you can download them. See a list of all the scripts and the newest, best rated and most downloaded scripts.

Can I create my own script?
Yes you can. You need some basic coding knowledge, Messenger Plus! Live scripting system is based on Microsoft's JScript 5.6. But any developer will figure it out soon enough. Download the official documentation to get started. Also check out MPscripts.net which is a good resource for script developers. And of course you can post your questions in this forum section.

I made my own script
Great! We love to add it to our download database so everybody can download it, please submit the script to us. Please note that just posting the script on the forum will not get the script listed in the download DB, which is a shame because the download DB reaches much more users. So don't forget to submit.

What do I need to know before I post here?
- Search first if your question hasn't been asked already.
- Read the documentation first if you have a question about a certain function.
- Although it's not required, we advice you to use [request] as the beginning of your topic title when you have an idea for a script which others can create, and [release] when you made a script which can be downloaded in the startpost (don't forget to submit too).

This post will be updated from time to time to keep it accurate.
