Do you have build 235? Do you have service packs?
Do you have any app that may be blocking changes?

RE: Problem Installing by mike88 on 06-25-2006 at 08:35 PM

Build 235 of what?  I don't have Msg Plus! anymore because of the new MSN so it's already uninstalled.  I have Service Pack 1 because SP2 won't work for some odd reason & there are no programs blocking it.

I also get the message to try installing from an Administrator account but when i try to do that from safe mode in order to get to the Administrator account, there is no internet connection so i'm unable to try..

Please search next time.

Matty's reply to Installation error =(

Thank you, i tried administrator with it's password but now i get the message:

Unable to log on:
Logon Failure: user account restriction.  Possible reasons are blank passwords are not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or a policy has been enforced.

but i'll try logging on from safe mode on Administrator and see if i can try then

Is your user account actually an Administrator? Because Messenger Plus! will not install on a limited access account.

Safe mode... So much for MP!L... :)

RE: Problem Installing by mike88 on 06-26-2006 at 12:44 AM

The only accounts i have are "Administrator" and my own account which is set to Administrator settings

I also tried logging on from Administrator - Safe Mode account and it still didn't work :@

is there any solution i can't stand not having Plus! :(

Any help?

I've got a similar problem here - the installer won't load up; I just get an "error" tone, and it won't load.

Tried doing the "run as..." routine, on a newly created second admin account.

then it says it can't access the file, i might not have the right permissions.

Anyone help please?

Thanks :)

Daniel

HELP PLEASE!!!!

RE: Problem Installing by Patchou on 06-26-2006 at 05:33 PM

if you're experiencing a problem with the installer, please send me an email at mplus@patchou.com and I'll check that with you. Please write as much details as possible about your problem (and tell me exactly where it fails). Thanks.

Tried removing Mess-Patch?

Also try reinstalling WLM
- Uninstall
- reboot
- remove folder in program files folder pointing to it
- remove C:\Documents and Settings\<accountname>\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\MSN ID Number
- reinstall

Use this for MSN ID number

Go to C:/ and delete MsgPlusDebug if its there. ;)

Then try re-installing Plus! :)
RE: Problem Installing by mike88 on 06-29-2006 at 03:54 AM

I don't think it has anything to do with that.  I posted the error messages i receive in the beginning..

edit:  I also don't have a "MsgPlusDebug" folder appearing which puzzled Patchou lol
