Event Logging Bug? by omega_ on 06-30-2006 at 07:26 AM

Hi support team. I've discovered a bug, not sure if it is though but I would post here and hopefully someone knows the cause.

All these while been using event logging, i just encountered something not too right with it.

Eg.
Date: 28 June 2006, events logged to Recorded Events.xml. No problems.

Date: 29 June 2006 2pm, events logged to Recorded Events (1).xml. No problems reading from Recorded Events (1).xml, but not reflected in Recorded Events.xml

Date: 29 June 2006 10pm, events logged to Recorded Events.xml. No problems.

Date 30 June 2006, events logged to Recorded Events (2).xml. No problems reading in Recorded Events (2).xml, but not reflected in Recorded Events.xml. [haven't shut down Messenger yet]

I guess Recorded Events (1) / (2).xml are created each time a new session is started, and after each seesion ends, these .xml files would be transferred to Recorded Events.xml and should be reflected.

Do advice on what I should do. (hope I don't have to delete the logs)

Plus! only creates new files if for some reason it can't open the old ones. So, nothing to worry about ;)

Any possibility to compile all the seperate files into one?

as you guessed, those files are created when the original file is locked (if another Messenger is still running for example). They are not merged automatically as many people would probably prefer it like that to separate logs coming from different sessions. Also, I would have difficulties organising the dates properly while merging.

I'll keep that in mind though.
