turn off ur wlm, go to
C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! Live\Scripts\Poke Script
and delete the fallcount.txt, start wlm.

XDD.. I'm getting poked all the time... Like right now... o.o...

But I don't mind it. XD It entertains people! :P


EDIT: I noticed a bug...

The bug is, when people spam-poke you(As 99% of my friends are doing as I type this), sometimes it stops working until you say a message, or until they wait for a sec.. Then it starts working again. It just doesn't say the message-- It keeps adding up though. Keep up the good work!

Is there a way to add more words then just 'poke'?

Like, if someone says 'poke' it will start and if someone says 'kick' or 'punch'.

And, oh yeah... a very entertaining script...  :P

ok so...what would I add in so that it works with "poke" AND "poke./Poke."... because some people use the script for capitals and punctuation and it makes it so they can't poke me...

Change the Message.Match to look like this

Although there's probably a better way.

and for the kick/punch ect

This one - it has two scripts in the download - one comes up with defects when I load it in (ScriptInfo), the other doesn't but at the same time doesn't appear to do anything anyway :S (PokeScript)

It's probably just me being stupid :$

[update] Hmm yep I worked it out - re-named PokeScript.zip to PokeScript.plsc :$

Hello.

I have the Poke script installed and Running.

Now my friend.

He does /poke and it does nothing.

It says command is not reconised.

Now my other friend can do it to me.

They both has Plus! Live.

But friend B can do it and friend A cannot.

None of them have the Poke script installed.

But B can do /poke

Br4yd3nP.Plus, your friend does not need to type "/poke" but "poke" (without the slash ("/")) ;)

I edited it a little to let it use the registry instead of a file.

EDIT: And it supports multiple users :)

You can poke even with out the script.
All it does is check the incoming messages for "poke" and if it contains it, then it falls over.

Edited the already edited script edited by me :P

* Accepts poke and pokes
* Is case insensitive
* Saves the fallcount per user in the registry
* Doesn't show fallcount on poke, just /me falls over
* Shows the current fallcount when !fallcount is typed by either you or your contact and answers with /me 's fallcount is %fallcount%
* Has an extra menu option to show the fallcount
* Accepts the /resetcount command to reset and the menu item can be used.
* Multi user

Now with Extra Easy ScriptPack Installer :d

i'm working on a better regex cause all the ones posted won't work in senctences and /\bpokes?\b/i seems to work in sentences AND with the optional s.

But I also noticed that OnEvent_ChatWndReceiveMessage doesn't receives /me messages, don't know if this is a bug or something?

EDIT:

Learned regex, and now came with my own regex match :D

/\b(\*)?poke(d|s)?(\*)?\b/i

This will match any sentence with poke, poked, pokes and with a * on the beginning and/or ending, ex: *pokes or poked*

Due to a /me message limitation it won't respond when someone sends you "/me pokes you"

Thought about the /me pokes thing... can't u just check the Origin var. for the same string ( Origin.match(/\b(\*)?poke(d|s)?(\*)?\b/i) != null ) or is the /me messages in some other var.?

but anyways the writing to the registry doesn't work but when I changed to "MsgPlus.ScriptRegPath + key" instead of what u had it worked but the downside there is that it store the fallcount key in global settings so all users have the same fallcount =(

Make sure key starts with \ might need to double it, not sure. But that should work.

Are you using the latest plus! live version or the beta?

Could you please look in the registry for a key for me, I might be abled to fix it.

Please see which subkeys are in this registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Patchou\Messenger Plus! Live\GlobalSettings\Scripts\Poke Script\Settings

To open the registry press Start -> Run and type "regedit" without the ""

And I made yet another regex :P

I found the bug that would constantly reset the fallcount.

So I fixed it and here is another version...

If you find any bugs please tell me.

Your update broke the fallcount completely.
It no longer says the fall count at all.
I tried adding in it myself, but it immediately becomes defective.
Fixplz.

Had a bad install twice in a row.
works fine now.

Sorry I didn't like that It said that every time, so I removed it.

You can type !fallcount to see the current fallcount

Just for you an edited version that send the fallcount every message :P

About the button, it should work normally, do you get any errors in the Debug Window?

Here is my update to the original (and the cleanest imo) version of ths script as per the need of the created sub-thread.

It doesnt have a resetpokecount. I dont see the use. If you want you could be "not lazy" and go and reset the count to 1 or just delete the count file if messenger is closed/script is disabled :P

I could make it check if poke is the first word in the sentence and thus triggering the sequence. But that looked kinda pointless to me. Tell me what you think/want.

Gawd, you all suck, this used to be so simple and now it's all full of faults and it's different, when I click show current count, nothing happens, anyways, i'm downloading the original one cause atleast that one doesn't add to MY fall count when I say poke.

It's how this script has meant to be made, and there is no need to say we "all suck". To stop it from adding to your postcount, you just have to check the recieved messages Origin against your Messenger.MyName.

hmm it keeps saying the /me falls down, and giving me the fallcount (i want the fallcount each time) when ever I say poke, i am using the version you made for Jameslives and likeit, except for what it is doing now

Well i've checked the script, and it seems to work fine already. What version of Messenger Plus! Live do you have? There has been an update due to the Yahoo interoprability. I think you may not have this update, which may cause the problem ;)

Hang on while I add some debugging functions to the script so I can see what is going wrong.

Edit: Attached file. Install it then go into messenger plus options, then scripts then click show debugging. If it is already ticked and there is no debugging window, go to the Plus! menu in the Main messenger window and click "Show debugging". Then once the window has opened click the combo box then select the poke script. It should say something along the lines of "yourname says: poke" ;) Repeat it here and i'll do my best to help.
