Compatibility Issues by mAV3 on 07-01-2006 at 06:32 PM

i have messenger plus version 3.63.148 - April 4th 2006 and MSN messenger version 7.5 (Build 7.5.0324) the problem i am facing is that after i install messenger plus it works fine for a couple of days and then all of a sudden it stops working and under the 'Plus!' section in the messenger toolbar the only option i get is that of compatibility issues where it says there is a fatal error and messenger plus is not compatible with this version of Msn messenger after that i re-install it starts to work again and after some days the problem comes back to haunt me .. can any1 give me a solution to this problem

Try switching the hook method to Default-Forced or Alternative.

Have you patched your Messenger at all? Are you running add-ons like Smiley Central? If so, they may be interfering.

hey raceproUK thanx for ur help but i have tried all that ..... to no effect

RE: Compatibility Issues by Voldemort on 07-06-2006 at 06:59 PM

Uninstall Messenger Discovery for a few days and see if it still happens.

RE: Compatibility Issues by mAV3 on 07-08-2006 at 08:42 AM

i tried this without discovery x and the problem is still there both the problems the 1 i hv stated below and the compatibility thing ......

another thing that when ever i start my comp i hv set msn to sign in automatically .... when i sign in then i try plus and it says compatibility issues but if i log out and then sign in again, 8 out of 10 times plus starts to wrk

ok here's another problem that i realised ..... when i hv both discovery x and plus installed and running, my messenger just stops working that is it shows me signed in but actually i am offline and when i try to connect it tells me troubleshoot where it says there is a problem in key ports or it just tries to sign in and never does

Try upgrading to Windows Live Messenger if you have Windows XP or Vista. You'll also need to upgrade your Messenger Plus! to Messenger Plus! Live.
