Now that i've installed messenger plus! live, whenever i start messenger live and login, it just sits there perpetually logging in , with the little spinny icons continually revolving. When i click annuler, cancel (i have the french version, i had the russian version and it still crashed) nothing happens, none of the buttons work. If i click the icon in the toolbar in the lower right, and sign out, then try to sign back in, it crashes.

Uninstall Messenger Plus! Live. Do you still have the same problem?

A solution to many is to uninstall WLM and Msg Plus! Live (Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs), delete both folders from C:\Program Files\, then download them both again and install.

I did uninstall messenger live, reinstalled it, uninstalled messenger plus live , reinstalled it, and it still happens

You didn't answer my question.

Uninstall Messenger Plus! Live. Do you still have the problem when it is uninstalled? Can you sign in when Messenger Plus! Live is uninstalled?

ohhhh yah i can, with messenger plus uninstalled i can use live normally

I understand that you have uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. Please read my post and do what it says in order. See if you still get the problem:

As  I have already stated, yes I did all of that, and it still is NOT working properly.

Did you delete C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\ and C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! Live\ folders after you uninstalled them?

Yes. But I'll do it again one more time.

Unfortunately, searching the forum, there's some posts just like yours, with no solution.

However, there is suggestions to check your anti-virus and firewall.

What anti-virus and firewall do you have?

AVG , no firewall besides a physical router

What version of WLM and Messenger Plus! Live do you have?

8.0.0792.00

So you could sign in to WLM with MP!L running perfectly fine until today?

No no no. I just downloaded messenger plus! live today, that's when my problems started.

Messenger live works fine by itself, it does NOT work with messenger plus! live.

For the third time, I uninstalled both messenger live and messenger plus! live, deleted both of their folders, reinstalled both, and still messenger plus! live crashes messenger live.

Uninstall
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Remove Windows Live Messenger
Remove Messenger Plus! Live

Registry
Start > Run > type regedit
Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger [image]
Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Patchou [image]

Folders
Delete C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\
Delete C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! Live\
Delete C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger

Temporary Internet Files
Internet Explorer [Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files]
Mozilla Firefox [Tools > Options > Privacy > Cache > Clear Cache Now]

Download and Install
Windows Live Messenger 8.0.0792.00
Messenger Plus! Live 4.00.235

I did all of that, and still it doesn't work.

I mean, I am using the french version of messenger live and plus! live...
