My keyboard (which is largely irrelevant) has a hotkey to launch MSN / WLM. However, I have Polygamy enabled. So when I press this button, A new instance of WLM loads, instead of just restoring the existing one. Is there any way of changing the shortcut link to restore the existing instance?

The whole idea behind polygamy is it prevents the uniqueness check. Therefore, I very much doubt it's possible to change the behaviour of the button.
