For years i have had issues with MSN messenger and now Windows live messenger, logging me off every few minutes and saying that I have logged into another machine. How do I get this crap to stop? I am tired of it!

This usually occurs from two scenarios:

Someone else has access to your account. In this case, just change your password.
You are automatically signed in by Windows Messenger (NOT Windows Live Messenger). You can disable Windows Messenger as a startup item or remove your .NET Passport from your Windows user account (this will not affect Windows Live Messenger).

How do I disable Windows Messenger as a startup item?
Also, I have had this issue with MSN/Windows Messenger before I had Windows Live Messenger. Does that matter?

Both will not prevent Windows Messenger from starting up.
