The graphics are a little old, but 40GB will be OK if you don't want too many games.

I have an 80gb hdd and that isn't enough at all.

You can get a 200gb hdd quite cheap now-a-days.

I think 40GB will be enough for those games and maybe a couple more, but if you are going to have more games on it in the future I would personally advise you to get at least another 40GB.  Though as traxor said HDDs are becoming really cheap and if/when you upgrade it, it won't cost you much.  You can always just see how it goes and make your decision later too.

Hdds are cheap and i plan to buy a 200-250gb one. I am currently doing quite well with my 40gb one but the only difference is that i have to clear out crap that ill never use again once every 8 months to a year or so.
If i had a 200-250gb hdd then itd take me about 2 or so years to get around doing that meaning i would be wasting a lot of space :P

Oh i write my music everytime im clearing a bit of space so that helps in music archiving according to my choices for that year or so too ;)

It isnt that big you know :P You could easily put all those games, install xp with the updates, all the range of softwares you needs, a few gb of music and still have room to spare. I do ;)

40GB should be alright.

I'm on a 30GB on my laptop and I have heaps of music and a few games on here. I'm planning to change it to 100GB though so then I have more to play with in regards to music and perhaps even having a second operating system on it link Linux or something like that.

you know a laptop isn't meant to replace a desktop computer right, especially for games?
