Default Notifications by CanadianOriginal on 07-28-2006 at 12:29 AM

One thing that's changed since Plus 3. I'm not sure if this is wanted or not, but I think it's inconvenient.

When ou create a new notification, you can choose
a) for selected contacts
b) for all contacts or
c) all but selected contacts

Creating a notification for all contacts does not apply by default when you add a new contact. You have to edit the notification and go add the new contact to the list. I'm thinkinf if it's "All contacts" it should be regardless of your contact list changing. Does anyone agree with me?

Can't confirm this behaviour: it correctly tracks contact list changes here.

Well, this turns out to have been my fault.

I had the notification set to all contacts. At one point, I removed a single contact from the list, automatically changing it to "selected contacts". I later re-added the contact, but did not reset the selection to "all contacts". Hence, new contacts were not added by default. My bad!

If you regulary need to add/remove a few contacts from that list, you better choose "all, but the selected ones".

In that way you can simply tick the contact you don't want a notification for. And later simply remove the check mark again. Nothing more is needed (you don't need to change the main choice). New contacts added to the contactlist will also automatically be included in the filter list in that way.

;)

Thanks Cookie, good advice.
