The John Deere one is stupid :p... should have green in it... and yeah... I agree with whoever said they're all the same... Cool... but they are repetitive.

Nike & Adidas ones are kinda stupid too tbh... haha... the trademark design is like.. not there with them

WEB 2.0 logos is a concept which i dont like much..but people are adopting it more and more so i think i will have to quit fighting against it.

A logo for me..is a logo..

Calling logos "logos web 2.0" will prevent them from being unique..

I'm actually searching for a new logo for albys.net since Valspy decided to quit the job.

That's totally the style I was going for.. it looks futuristic, sophisticated and mostly hot.

Anyone think they could do anything good are welcome to try.

It's so hard to get transparency when you're playing with lots of overlays and stuff.  And php is a right pain for transparency as it is.

I just don't get why all the glass and reflections and stuff. If I want a logo, I want a nice simple picture that people will remember. Given the current trend, it's probably best to make a jagged-edged, flat shaded logo, then it'll stand out.

I agree.  The generator was a joke...  I wouldn't expect a bunch of people to use it to actually make logos...  I was making a point about how most Web 2.0 logos, while quite cool, are all the same.

Here's a tutorial on how to do the reflection for any photoshop n00bs like me who wondered: http://www.planetphotoshop.com/tutorials/lesa8.html

Getting a slightly paler part on your text is best done by making the shape you want with the pen tool, filling a new layer with that area in white then changing the opacity to around 25-30%.

The rest is all font / colour choice. :)

I didn't use photoshop. I use Paint Shop Pro 9. For the reflection I just doubled the text fliped it then reversed the gradient and the bottom half.

Well I don't have any statistics, since it's hosted by msgshit for me.

BUT, the script caches images when it makes them, and keeps them until they haven't been accessed for a full hour.

When it was on msghelp I was getting about 100 images at most points.

On the server right now there are over 1500 pngs, about 24MB worth! :P

EDIT:  Yay, it's been picked up by the front page of del.icio.us.

Nah, just gutted I put all that work into MSIG, weeks of hard work, then I make something for a joke in an hour or two to avoid doing maths work and it's the thing that gets all the coverage. :P
