How do you move a thread? by Dave on 08-15-2006 at 12:17 PM

I saw that a thread had been moved, cos it had a little icon next to it that said moved on the tool tip.  How do you do that?

Only mods and admins can do it.

But if you think a thread should be moved... you can report it using the report button and state that you think it should be moved, and where you think it should be moved to... and a lot of the time mods will move it.

Is the same true for closing threads i.e. stopping anyone else from posting on them?

Yup... but yet again if you feel a thread should be closed you can report it and state why you think... and the mod/admin will decide whether or not they agree.

However if it is your thread, I've never seen it not being closed:P

The same is also true for being sticky. If you believe it should be, report it and say it should be sticky in your opinion, and state why:)

sticky is where it stays at the top forever, even if no-one posts on it, right?

Correct. A sticky normally contains important information that will be useful in time to come.

Not quite on topic, but can't be bothered to start a new thread, are we allowed to rate our own threads as 5*s to make ourselves look better?

Nothing stopping ya, I reckon plenty people do.

That said, does anyone pay attention to thread ratings anyway?

I'm sure it would draw more attention to it if there were a row of bright yellow stars next to it, but true, i doubt they get much attention paid to them
