RE: No Cd's by Kenji on 08-21-2006 at 02:40 PM This isnt possible unless you use a crack which is illegal. i wouldnt use one of them, i tried and it fucked it up. quote:Not really. Some games can run if the original CD's ISO is mounted on a virtual HDD. A game that I know that allows you to play it if the iso is mounted on a virtual drive is Warcraft III (both RoC and TFT) There is also a program called GameJackal that allows says that you can play your game without a cd, but I dont know if this really works and if this is legal... One method I have used in the past: Save ISO images of the CDs onto your HDD, then use software to create a virtual CD drive and manage the ISOs (I use Alcohol 120%), though IIRC there WAS a small free one released by MS. RE: No Cd's by Negro_Joe on 08-21-2006 at 05:49 PM
Meh you can get fixed images form a number of websites, its not illgeal if you own the game and purchased it legally, you simply replace the exe in the directory with the one you download, RE: No Cd's by Jimcando on 08-21-2006 at 06:24 PM
If you use a virtual drive then you still have to load the disk image which is just as much work as putting the CD in a real drive quote:I don't know about Alcohol 120%, but most programs that create a virtual drive automatically work around the copy protection. Daemon Tools, the one I use does anyway. RE: No Cd's by ShawnZ on 08-21-2006 at 06:31 PM tried copying the cd's contents to a folder on your hard drive and running "subst x: c:\path\to\" RE: No Cd's by RaceProUK on 08-22-2006 at 10:18 AM
