Adding external emails by brwarner on 08-25-2006 at 12:17 AM

I want to add an external e-mail (@rogers) but what do I put for the e-mail server textbox

Maybe this helps:

quote:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.broadband.rogers.com

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.broadband.rogers.com

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server Port: 587

Note: Your program may default to Port 25 here. This will work also. However, Rogers Yahoo recommends Port 587 because this will have fewer problems with spam protection systems.

Account Name/Login Name: Your Member ID (e.g., member@rogers.com or member@nl.rogers.com).

Password: Your Member ID password.

The POP3 one, pop.broadband.rogers.com :)

I have the same problem. I'd like to add my second hotmail address and my school addres (@uqtr.ca) How can I do it or where I could find the information about the server...??

You'll have to ask your university's IT admin if the mail server has POP3 capabilities, and what the server's address and POP3 port number is.

And please don't revive old threads.

Edit: Since uqtr.ca is a univertsity domain, they almost certainly have a POP3 server you can use.
