In six years (or more) there aren't gonna be desktop computers anymore...all replaced by laptops or even smaller computers like the PDA's and SmartPhones. Ofcourse those will be more powerfull then they are now (have a look around and see what's possible already :O) and Windows Mobile will be a fullblown fully configurable OS (if it isn't already..lol..i wouldn't know)

We'll all be using MSN/WLM Mobile and Plus!Mobile....

:D

errm i still want my desktop PC thanks :) although i think that Microsoft should make its own PC's like Apple you know that way we can almost eliminate driver errors incompatability etc.

There should be more distinct PC types IMO for instance, low end cheap stuff, Office Stuff, Graphics and Media Playing, Graphics and Media Creating, Extreme Power Users, Servers etc

but who knows

I still think we should all have chips inside of us so that we can be tracked if missing and identified etc, just swipe your hand over a scanning unit for example

Going by Moore's Law we will have computers that are 16 times quicker and about 16 times smaller in the procesor size too.  I think there will still be desktops because they are simply easier to make quicker than laptops for a cheaper price, though these will be like our super computers now.  We will probably be starting to use quantum computers too.  With these changes we will easily be able to be able to just use messenger services as video chats and it will probably be more closely linked with the current VoIP atm.  And making assumption based upon the wireless broardband coming out now I think that we will have more "IM'ing" while we are on the go.

Why not have a thing when somebody sends you an offline message, the message comes up in your head in thought!
