[Suggestion] Contact Objects (Additions) by SolidSnake on 08-28-2006 at 03:49 AM

I dunno where to put this or if it can be done, but I will just put it out there.  As well I searched a bit, but im a lazy search hoe, so I didnt find anything ;].

I noticed something in the ContactSay script, which I had downloaded from the plus site...  When you use the /contactsay command, it works fine, changes your name to the other users, and bam places the message, then back to what your old name was, though the only problem I noticed was that it doesnt take the other users font colour, font size or font face.

I took a look in the Scripting Documentation, and noticed that none of those exist, or there is currently no documentation on them.  So I was just wondering if there was the chance of those being implemented, as I would end up editing the script, still giving full credit to the original author.

It's just poopy when you want to make the other person think they typed something, and then the font is either yours, or you try to change it to match theirs and you get some messed up thing =D.

But yeah, thats about all, just wondering if there is the chance of Font Size, Font Face and Font Colour being implemented, if not, tis ok, just would be sweet.

Thanks, and keep up the good work ;],

This can't be done as there would need a script running on their computer and then the one on your computer recieves the font name font size and font colour. The scripting engine just doesn't go that far.

Er... No it doesn't. The protocol sends the font name size colour etc. Else, how would your messenger know what font to display their text as?

Also, MessengerDiscovery Live succeeded in determining what font a contact uses. It even displays the name of it in the contact information windows, so in fact it should be possible. :P

It is possible given your first statement.  It's more the fact that this is a lot of work and no-one who is capable of doing this level of scripting feels like doing it (or sees a point other than to annoy people or be funny for 2sec).

Also, Messenger Discovery is a proxy [Image: msn_tongue.gif] and therefore has raw access to the protocol ;)

Was a proxy, now uses Winsock Hooking I think.

Still has raw access to the protocol :P

* RaceProUK might actually give MDLive a go, if it's reliable now.

Seems to be reliable here :) You should be able to find the font through the Xniff ocx, but setting your font to that would be difficult...
