hi everyone i am haveing trouble with windows  live messanger can anybody help me out please? the prob is when i chat on messanger it freezes and says up top (not responding)and have 2 restart pc again 2 get it working i have taken it off pc and put bk on but still happens i also have scanned for spyware and and other stuff but comes up clean its a pain as i need messanger and cant get my head around this prob anybody help me??? thanks alot

Did you try uninstalling msn and reinstalling it? and not by just deleting it, by going to control panel and clicking on add or remove programs.

if you havnt then try it and see what happens.

Maybe your computer cant run that many apps as once?

My mom's WLm freezes every so often causes it so sloww.....

BTW...MSN refers to MSN6 and MSN7(.5), and WLM refers to 8.0. Please use abbrv. properly.

yeah hi i have removed it in control pan and downloaded again but still the same i only run msl 8 with no other progs running but still happens

Have you used a patch? Have you got Smiley Central? Have you got Messenger Plus! ? Have you got Messenger Discovery?

Have you downloaded anything for WLM (like the things above) ?

It's not clear if your using Windows Live Messenger or MSN Messenger (as it says MSN in the title but WLM in your post). What version are you using?

Have you downloaded any scripts for it? Have you downloaded any crap for it like chris said? Or have you got a slow computer or slow internet?

i have wlm8 with broadband internet which aint slow and i havent downloaded any crap but stilll has not responding after i have been chatting 4 a while!! im going 2 kick its ass soon

- Is your PC fully up to date?
- Are you sure it's clean from spyware and viruses?
- Do you have any patches/add-ons/plugins for it installed?
- Is it the absolute latest version of Messenger?
- How many other programs do you run at the same time, and what are they? Include all those next to the clock as well.
- What version of Windows do you run, and which Service Pack?
- What are your PC's specs? Processor, memory, hard drive size, stuff like that.

i had one script that had a bug or something and the same thing happend to me go to C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! Live and delete any scripts (if you have any @ all)
c if that works also before you start messenger press alt control delete to bring up the task manager click process and end msnmsg and anything like that then try it

also when you press alt control delete (or open taskman) wat percentage of the cpu are you using?

i am having the same problem with mine ... both me and my boyfriend use it but for some reason... the not responding is only happening on mine we hav uninstalled and reinstalled it but there is still no change

Solution: Put Msn messenger live 9 on garbage and install 8.5 xD
