Mozilla 2.0 beta by ForestPlus! on 09-03-2006 at 09:36 PM

Wow, what an exciting/strange time for web browsers!
First off IE 7 beta, then browzar, and now mozilla beta!
So (those of you who have it) what do you think of mozilla 2.0 beta?

RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by alexp2_ad on 09-03-2006 at 09:54 PM

Stop including Browzar!  It's just an Internet Explorer wrapper, it's more a skin than a browser!

And Firefox 2.0 (Not Mozilla, that's a different browser, another real one) is pretty good, I like the new theme. :)

RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by Chris4 on 09-03-2006 at 10:19 PM

I was thinking... what is Mozilla 2.0? :S lol

Firefox 2.0 (Bon Echo)

And what does Firefox wrap? Just because the fact it doesn't include it's engine in the program doesn't make it any different. Browzar, Maxthon, Avant Browser, Slim Browser etc are all browsers whether you like it or not.

If you include anything that wraps IE as it's own browser then you include all kinds of non-browsers, like BitComet for example.

If I make a skin for iTunes, does that mean I'm launching my own music player?  No.

RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by boston on 09-04-2006 at 08:25 AM

the new beta 2 of firefox 2.0 is cool but i wont get it til some more themes are available...i like my mac themes :D
but im sure its gonna be better
its good that we can have both mozilla 1.5 and 2.0 beta 2:D
wow a spell checker this is pretty neat

RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by ForestPlus! on 09-04-2006 at 08:35 AM

Yes, i am sorry for calling it mozilla 2.0, it's real name is Mozilla firefox 2.0 beta... and the spell checker, ive tried deliberatly (theres one <-  ) misspelling things, and no spell check for me.. ill see if theres any options page somewhere...:P

RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by Mike on 09-04-2006 at 08:46 AM

Ummm...
Wasn't Bon Echo released looooong time ago? :P

"Firefox 2 Beta 2" was just released a few days ago though.
RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by MattyRid on 09-04-2006 at 09:23 AM

Beta 2 I have found more unstable compared to Beta 1. Beta 2 freezes every 5 seconds, even now as I type this it freezes and then is fine, something Beta 1 never did.

RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by Felu on 09-04-2006 at 09:31 AM

I have Mozilla Firefox 2 (Beta 1). Just didn't update to BETA as GM isn't compatible with it yet [Image: xso_sad.gif].

And the dodgy spell checker marks 'mozilla'  and 'firefox' ad worngly spelled :p

RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by Underlord on 09-04-2006 at 09:49 AM

Beta 2 works well and includes the ability to import different dictionaries :>

RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by ForestPlus! on 09-04-2006 at 09:51 AM

I really don't like the new theme. But I have not used Firefox for the past 2 weeks now, I have been converted to Opera :P

Open the .jar file yourself in WinRAR or a similar program (aren't firefox themes in .jar extension?) and then find and edit a file that says for which version the theme works, and edit it to include beta 2.
Don't know if it will work, but you can try... :P
RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by ins4ne on 09-04-2006 at 10:44 AM

no imo. If you claim to be a browser, create your own fucking engine. Else whats the point? Just adding looks to someone elses engine isnt of any use imo :/

Not sure if this has been answered but do all the extensions work that were in 1.5?

No, but most have updates or betas that work already and some can be made to work with a simple trick.
RE: Mozilla 2.0 beta by YourNeibour on 09-06-2006 at 02:07 PM

fasterfox and flashgot is the only extensions I want..do they work with 2.0?
